This year’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping event could be the biggest yet with UK consumers predicted to spend more than £4billion.

That makes it more important than ever that consumers are aware of their rights when shopping online, and about the steps they can take to protect themselves.

Trading Standards are urging consumers to follow their ten Internet shopping tips:

Scam Alert: Bogus Trading Standards officers

This was reported in Warwickshire but could also easily be happening elsewhere, so be vigilant, especially if you have been the victim of a rogue trader or other doorstep scammer.

There have been reports that householders who have previously been the victims of cowboys or rogue traders are being visited by bogus Trading Standards officers, who have fake ID.
